you will find some good production in most genres i agree that mixing and mastering seems to be the be all and end all these days rather then music that blows your mind. i think the hard music seen is making a bit of a come back just very mainstream but the productions a spot on.

your a producer do something about then mate instead of preaching to others telling us how to do it.

Easy to say by someone else.

Wer're just airing our opinions not here to save the day...if its worth saving? When 'magic' is lost in something, getting that back is a lot harder than one persons crusade .

Do we need it back? Is it because of the alternatives? heap technology has got a lot lot to answer for which is why it is a bit of a loosing battle. Plus the greedy still want to squeeze every last penny of pushing anything out.

Dance cant be dance as it was because of Genres splitting up..... Hard House (a name i hate anyway) is one of those small genres that cant survive on its own..... we need the genres to join ranks again to make a great night out...promote variety so a compilation mix is interesting and not the same monotonous tone as it is now.

And as much as i like some of the new engineering techniques......its time to start actually playing keys again. so much effort sometimes wasted in getting a sound the way you want it with FX than to actually play it in.......... like off-beat basses played in and not one note gated/side chained.... getting the human groove back.

I feel a lot of people are more fussed about the overall sound quality than the main elements of the tracks now a days which is sad. Agree with what Albert and Jay.

Agree with you 100% on that.

For me hardhouse in the early days sounded raw, but the sounds, melodies, arrangments were brilliant and thats how i liked it.

Nowadays its the other way around, producers try there best to have kicks, bass etc as hard as they can, forgrtting about the rest of the track.

Is it worth pondering on how this has descended into a discussion about sound quality (raw vs over-processed? which I never implied!) instead of the musical innovation.

This is all i got to say about Dubstep in a tune.. http://soundcloud.com/dexitron/dexitron-htfu-sc-edit (with futuristic dub step fart-synths)pistols

Sorry but that sounds like a really shit tune from 7-8 years ago. Hard house will always be hard house, something that you want to hear when you are twisted on drugs but not when sober. You want to bring hard house back? Work on improving the quality of drugs. idea

Hey Senad, are you suggesting that producers should make a sideline in the illicit production of narcotics as a genre enhancing promotional tool? biggrin
